Singing Paintings

I’m working on a series of singing paintings. They’re ink on wood with embedded sound exciters, devices that turn the painting into a speaker. Take a gander at the prototype.

I just got back from my first figure drawing session in five years. Yes, five. I've been sketching people in the ten second intervals they make themselves remotely interesting, producing entertaining squiggles and scratches in bulk to sustain my practice. For whatever reason, Columbia either didn't have or didn't advertise open figure drawing, so I made due as best as I could. I've kept up pretty well, considering. But despite this, to draw a live model this cleanly is something I haven't done in far too long.
